In our summer internship program, you and a couple other carefully selected high school students can assist the organization and execution of The Angelica Player’s Theater Intensive and/or Camp. You will have the opportunity to work with children from ages 6-14, helping cultivate a love of theater in the youth of our community. The internship starts the week before the program begins with collaborative sessions in which we help guide you to be fully prepared to work with children in this age group. This includes teaching you engaging theater games, teaching strategies, and a foundation of theater knowledge to help you in your role during the camp and in your future experiences with theater.
The material of this intensive aims to provide a representative experience of theater, including workshops on auditions, directing, and prop making, and many more. You will also have the opportunity to intentionally develop a lesson focused on an area of theater of your choice, and learn how to deliver the information to this group in a fun and meaningful way.
This internship is created for you, with the objective of giving you the opportunity to gain experience working with children, learn how to teach and facilitate theater, and further develop your special interest in the broader world of theater. This is your opportunity to shine as a role model and share your love for the arts.
